1) Check the toy is appropriate for your child’s age - most are labelled.
2) Check manufacturers’ warning labels for information about flammability or toxic ingredients.
3) For children under three, avoid all toys with small detachable parts.
4) If you have children of different ages, store each child’s toys separately.

Store all medicines, both prescribed and over-the-counter, in a locked cabinet and return any unused or old medicines to your local pharmacy.

One of the most important key points, don’t leave clothes or objects lying on the stairs that you or your child could trip over.

It is always recommended to fit safety gates at the top and bottom of stairs. You never know if your child wants to come near the steps.
